This is a DIY project that has been on my list of things to do pretty much since I started using oils, and I just barely got around to doing it recently! The wait was worth it though, and the process was SO easy that I’m definitely making my own soap from here on out!
You literally need three things, and there are tons of variations you can do with different oils and scents to make your own seasonal hand soap without all the nasty fragrances and chemicals. My kids are OBSESSED with washing their hands, and I like that this soap won’t dry out their hands and it’s safe if some happens to get in their mouth!
These make GREAT gifts for school teachers, day care centers, church nursery leaders…all you do is tie a ribbon and a cute tag and you have a simple and useful gift!
Here’s what you need:
–foaming hand soap dispensers
–unscented Castile soap
-Thieves essential oil + any oil of choice
For our hand soaps, I decided to use 10 drops of Thieves and 5 drops of lemon! Thieves is a natural antibiotic and there are some very reputable and fascinating studies done that show how bacteria is unable to grow in the presence of Thieves essential oil.
Instructions:
-Add 1/3 cup Castile soap to a dispenser.
-Add desired amount of essential oils, I recommend 10-15 drops!
-Fill to the top with water, then shake shake shake!
That’s it! This is a very cost effective alternative to buying hand soap from the store and is way safer and more natural than you will find anywhere else.

Note: Young Living sells pre-made Thieves hand soap, but it’s expensive so I choose to make my own. If you don’t feel like DIY’ing it, you can grab it from their website!
