DIY Terrazzo Accent Wall!

Have you ever given up a master bedroom to better utilize space in a house? Our master bedroom is downstairs, so we turned it into a playroom/office and took the extra bedroom upstairs to be closer to the kids. It works out MUCH better, except that the four of us now share this one bathroom! Sharing a bathroom with two toddlers isn’t always fun, but I have been slowly adding fun touches to make it feel like a space that works for everyone. Most recently, I put up this DIY terrazzo accent wall with vinyls from Ash and Olive Co, I love how it turned out and brought all of our decor schemes together!

Why These Vinyls?!

I looooove neutrals like gray and black paired with a shiny copper and deep green, pretty much everything in our house consists of these four colors together! Since Ash and Olive Co allows you to customize any listing with several color options, I was able to easily tie in this accent wall with the rest of our home.

I have used vinyls in pretty much every room of our house, I love that they are a cheaper alternative to wallpaper with a big impact and easy application. These ones are also removable which helps a lot when you are renting but still want a space to feel like your own! I was concerned about using vinyls in the bathroom with all the water vapor and humidity, but they have been up for about a month and there are no signs of peeling or wear.

Our “shelves” are actually black wire baskets that I hung on the wall (with not so conspicuous push pins) and I love how they look! I got them on major clearance during Hobby Lobby’s change of season sale, and they work perfectly for holding extra toilet paper and a couple little decor items.

This wall makes me smile every time I see it, and I love the impact it makes for under $40!! Now I’m looking around the rest of our house wondering where else I can put a DIY terrazzo accent wall. I actually found a spot already and am wondering if it’s crazy or genius, I will be sure to keep you posted!
