I remember when I first found out about dryer balls, my mind was seriously blown! We hadn’t used dryer sheets in a couple years because I knew they caused reactions with sensitive baby skin, so we just dealt with our laundry being super staticky all the time. I was so excited to find out that there was an alternative, and that I could customize the scent with essential oils!
A friend warned me about putting the oils directly on the balls because there’s a chance they will transfer to clothing, so I opted to make this spray instead. There are so many essential oil combinations you can make for this, so go a little crazy! I’m boring, (aka I like the smell of lavender) so I made this lavender/lemon combo and love how it smells! I keep the spray bottle in our laundry room closet and spritz some on each of the dryer balls before I do a load.
Here’s what you need!
-wool dryer balls (found here)
-2oz glass spray bottle (I use this one)
-witch hazel or vodka
-distilled water
-your choice of essential oil (sign up for your starter kit here!)
Add 20 drops of essential oils to spray bottle, add a splash (finger width) of witch hazel, then fill to rest of the top with distilled water. Spray on dryer balls before each use or as needed!
Lastly, don’t forget to get yourself a cute label! My real life friend Kristen has the cutest custom vinyl shop and can make you whatever you want! Contact her on Facebook here.
