Happy FriYAY! I’m so excited to be starting a new series on my blog called FriYAY Favorites! I’ll be making my Friday posts around things that I’m loving lately, in different categories related to motherhood, kids, style, recipes, etc! This is basically a way for me to highlight the things that I’m loving and sharing with you, but in a more permanent place where you can revisit them whenever you want.
This week, I want to focus on favorites for first time pregnant moms! I was a googling maniac when I was pregnant with Reagan, always looking for answers and products and trying to do everything right! So I thought I would share my favorite things based on my experience, and hopefully you will find them helpful too!
Preggers the Book: My friend Chelsea has an amazingly successful blog that I referred to constantly during both of my pregnancies, and lucky for y’all she wrote a book with all of her best tips about pregnancy! I loved reading this book compared to other pregnancy books because it felt like I was talking to my best friend or sister about all the good, bad, and the ugly things involving pregnancy. Definitely a must for the first time mom, it walks you through all stages of pregnancy and how to prepare for the arrival of a newborn! You can purchase it on Amazon here.
Tummy Butter: I used this stretch mark prevention tummy butter during my second pregnancy and it is amazinggggggg. I actually had to fight my husband for it on several occasions because he liked to use it as lotion haha. I truly believe it kept me from getting stretch marks until much later in my pregnancy, and it leaves your skin feeling ultra moisturized but not greasy. You can grab it on Amazon here.
Maternity Belt: As you progress later in your pregnancy, all that weight in your abdomen can cause some serious back pain. I loved this back brace to help alleviate some of that weight and the pain that goes along with it. It’s under $30 and can be found here.
Shop Pink Blush: This is one of my favorite places to find cute maternity clothes! I wore this wrap dress for our gender reveal, for Easter, and for my baby shower, and I’ve been able to wear it a ton after pregnancy because it’s nursing friendly! They also carry a lot of cute basics that can be worn from the first trimester up until delivery.
Morning Sickness Fighters: I had bad nausea with my first pregnancy and horrible morning sickness with my second. It’s so important to have these items on hand before you start feeling sick so you don’t have to drag yourself to the grocery store in between throwing up to stock up! My go-to morning sickness fighters were lemon drop candy, peppermint candy, peppermint essential oil, peppermint tea, ginger tea and ginger ale. I also took B-Vitamins and ginger capsules to help curb nausea, I’m not sure how effective they were because swallowing pills made me nauseous. I’ve linked everything below so you can order on Amazon and get them now before you need them!
I hope you found this post helpful! If you have kids, let me know what you would add or takeaway from this list!
