I really had no interest in make up or learning how to apply it until very recently! I grew up with four younger brothers and I played three sports year round so I was always more of a tomboy with little interest in make up. Now that I’m officially a girl mom, I’ve gotten more interested in experimenting with different kinds of make up, how to apply it, and what works best with my skin.
One of my oldest friends reached out to me as she just became a make up artist for Maskcara Beauty and offered to send me some personalized samples to try out. I was super excited about this collaboration and the opportunity to have my make up matched specifically to my skin tone and type!
Maskcara is all about enhancing one’s natural beauty with three dimensional make up. The idea is that our faces aren’t two dimensional, so why should our make up be?! Each contour kit comes with four different colors: 1 highlighter, 1 contour, 1 blush/lip color, and 1 illuminator. Everything snaps into a cute compact so you have everything you need in one place (and you don’t lose anything!) I also tried out the double sided brush and the perfecter sponge which blends everything together.
Being a super newbie at contouring, I watched the video on Maskcara’s website that shows you exactly where and how to apply each color. It literally takes two minutes to do which I was really surprised about because it looks like you put a lot more time and effort into it than that! Once you have all the colors on you blend everything together with the sponge and it creates this seamless, accentuated look. You don’t even need to apply foundation because this blended contour look becomes your foundation!
I’m really excited that this kit was so easy to use and that my make up turned out well literally the first time I tried it. I think the price point is pretty reasonable and I’m excited to see how long this lasts while using it every day.
