Our Texas Farm Day!

As a kind of homage to our time spent in Texas (and because Reagan and Elliott are obsessed with animals) I took the girls for a farm day at my friend’s ranch and we all had the best time! We got to ride a horse, feed chickens, climb tractors, play in a fish pond, and chase all the ranch dogs and cats. After the initial trauma of fulfilling her dream of riding a horse Reagan had the best time and couldn’t stop talking about the horseys and chickens. She especially enjoyed getting on the John Deeres and pretending to drive Elliott around.

Elliott does this grunting thing whenever she sees an animal and it’s absolutely hilarious! It’s like she’s trying her darndest to go get the animal and it’s my fault for not letting her haha. She LOVED getting on the horse, you can see from her facial expressions that she thought she was the coolest kid ever!

This was one of those times when I could picture our family living farther out in the country or in a small town where our kids could have this free roaming lifestyle. We could never have animals (Jared is horribly allergic to everything) but it would be nice having all the land and space for the kids to explore and enjoy growing up on. But for now, suburbia with the community pool and Target down the road will do just fine!
