I have been talking about our budget patio makeover project for weeks and I am finally ready to show you the progress we made! We made sure to wait patiently for items to go on sale, and only purchased/installed things that can be taken with us when we move out of this house.
First things first, I have you show you guys the before pictures. Try not to die, because I know they are HORRIBLE. We just celebrated one year of living in this house and have always struggled with what to do with this large, sunny, uneven space. Okay enough stalling, here are the before pictures:
Before:
We lived with this as a backyard patio for an entire year! It is absolutely miserable in the summer because we get blasted from the Las Vegas sun all day long, and it makes this entire side of the house very warm. Once we renewed our lease for another year and the inside of our house was the way we wanted it to be, we started to think about making over the outdoor space. Here is what it looks after weeks of planning, and about $400!
After:
I look at this space now and I can’t believe it’s our backyard! Separating the large patio into different spaces actually made it feel bigger, not to mention cozier and more functional! It’s definitely not 100% perfect, but I am very happy with the progress of our budget patio project and will continue to add little touches as we go.
The umbrella was gifted to me from Abba Patio and I have to say it is one of the best pieces we could have gotten for our space! The offset umbrella gives 10 square feet of shade (As much as the pergola which is 3x the price!) and the pole is off center so it isn’t in the way. I love that it is adjustable so we can move it based on where the sun is at any time during the day. At under $100 it is an excellent addition to any patio!
