FINALLY! The room that gave me so much trouble since we moved in August is finally complete! After months of planning and searching for the exact right pieces, I turned this room into a the muted bohemian space I was looking for. I am so happy with this girl’s shared boho bedroom makeover, details for everything are in this post!
Inspiration
I really had no idea what direction I wanted to take this room in terms of design, but I loved these rainbow decals from Ash and Olive Co and decided to start there! Her decals are customizable so I was able to pick the three colors I wanted on the rainbow arches (I went with celedon, dijon, and nut brown). Everything else in the room was based on muted colors that paired with those three!
Wall Decor
I kept some pieces from the old room, including the dresser project from hell and these sweet ballerina drawings that I hung with DIY poster hangers. I knew I wanted name signs on the skinny walls above the girls’ beds, and fell in love with all the options from Lovable Lumber. Their site lets you visualize exactly how different fonts, colors, and stains will look which was super important for me in making decisions! I went with muted colors (Reagan’s #47, #36, Elliott’s #36, #19) to compliment the rainbow decals, and I love how they go well together without being too matchy matchy.
Bedding
When it came to bedding we went with our favorite linen brand, Linens & Hutch! Their sheets and comforters are incredibly soft, and my girls loved picking out a style that was cute and fun! We have their sheets on our bed and our guest bed, we will never go with anything else!
The blankets at the ends of their beds are from Blanket Love and are the best things EVER. They are SO DANG SOFT, warm, thick, heavy and made with minky material. Literal heaven in a blanket and I’m definitely jealous of my girls sleeping with them every night. I pulled from a lot of the muted colors in this floral pattern as additional inspiration for the room, and I love the floral mixed with the other patterns in their room.
