DIY Reindeer Name Sign

When my friend Lydia asked if I wanted to be part of a DIY Christmas craft group my initial response was NO THANKS. But after a minute I realized it’s been a long time since I stretched my DIY muscles and I wanted to challenge myself! I spent hours trying to figure out what to make, and then while scrolling Pinterest I found a cute wooden sign with all the reindeer’s names on it for sale. I thought I CAN MAKE THAT! And that’s where the inspiration for this DIY Reindeer name sign began!

The whole project was much easier than I anticipated and WAY cheaper than purchasing it. I made it on a stretched canvas so the sign is lightweight and easier to hang than a heavy wooden sign, but you could easily create this on any medium!

Supplies

-Reindeer name print (free download found below)
-stretched canvas
-hot glue
-pom pom maker
-colorful yarn

Instructions

-Print the reindeer name print. I love printing black and white signs at Staples with their engineering prints because they are cheap and quick! I printed this in an 18×24 for $3!

-Hot glue the edges of the print onto stretched canvas, wood, or cardboard. I found this two pack of 18×24 stretched canvas at Hobby Lobby for $8.99!

-Start making your pom poms! I used thicker yarn from JoAnn’s and love how they turned out. I used a larger pom pom maker from Hobby Lobby, find it HERE.

-When you have all your pom poms, line them up around your print to make a frame in the pattern that you want! When you have them ready to go, hot glue them to the edge of your canvas.

That’s it! Literally so easy and I love how it looks in the girls’ room. If you end up making this reindeer name sign, please tag me so I can check it out, I would love to see what you create!
