This room has been a labor of love for sure, but I am so excited to finally reveal it today! I recently decided to take my girls from having their own bedrooms to sharing one room (read more about that HERE). And as part of that transition I decided to take different aspects from their individual rooms and use them to make one new room. What we ended up with was this gorgeous modern bohemian bedroom, with rustic and warm touches and accents!
The Furniture
Everything started with this dresser, I found it at Goodwill for $12 and just HAD to bring it home! I needed a more narrow dresser than the one currently in this space so both beds would fit in the room when Elliott eventually outgrows the crib, and this one is the perfect size! If you watched my Instagram stories, you may have watched this saga from start to finish. I originally wanted to sand the dark finish off to bring out the lighter natural wood. After several hours and failed attempts I painted the whole thing black, added some handles (found HERE, I spray painted them gold!) and sanded around the edges to reveal the warm wood. And I love it so much more than my original plan! It feels modern with the gold accents but bohemian with the roughed up edges and imperfections.
I love Reagan’s new bed, and I am so excited that I was able to grab a matching one for Elliott! I was able to grab them second hand and saved a lot of money, but you can also find them on Wayfair HERE for 45% off! The scalloped details make it feel whimsical and bohemian, while still being practical and adaptable in any room.
The Decor
The biggest statement in this room has to be the wall decals. Lindsay over at AshandOliveCo whipped these up especially for my girl’s room and I am in love! This is the copper color, and the alternating solid and outlined patterns give it such good dimension on the wall. We also used her decals in our master bedroom, check out that post HERE! She has so many decals to choose from, whether you want the modern bohemian bedroom vibe, something southwestern, or even whimsical.
The art is from @bytovedalsyrd and it’s beautiful! The ballerina prints are from her shop and the middle one is a custom from a picture of Elliott and I. I made the poster hangers by staining two 1×2 pieces of wood, hot glueing them to the prints, and tying with some cord! Super easy, but if you won’t want the DIY option, find some poster hangers HERE.
