Renter Friendly Aztec Inspired Master Bedroom

If you read any of my previous posts on our master bedroom, you know that I had it all designed and figured out and was IN LOVE with it…and then we got a bigger bed and everything changed!

When we upgraded our bed we lost a headboard, linens, and the wall decor above us. You can read more about my thought and design process in my post HERE.

We lived with a blank white wall behind our bed for almost 6 months while I tried to figure out what to do with this space. Paint was out since we’re renting, I couldn’t find any artwork that I liked or wanted to make on my own, and I didn’t want to financially commit to a new headboard. Finally I was watching some stories one day and found @ashandoliveco, and I knew immediately that this is what I wanted to do to our room!

Her shop has tons of decals to choose from but I was drawn to these southwest style decals! I loved how they looked with our black duvet cover and I had been looking for a way to incorporate a highland cow print in our home forever, so I saw the potential for everything to come together!

The decals took me just over an hour to apply, and most of that time went to figuring out where to place them on the wall. It was super easy to do and i ordered more to put in the girls new shared room!

I found this highland cow print download on Etsy for under $3, had it printed at Staples for less than $2, and built a frame for just over $1 for a grand total of $6!

I bought these wreaths when they were 50% off at Hobby Lobby for about $10 each, I like that they work in this space and work in any other spot in our home if we decide to switch things up! The throw pillows were also a Hobby Lobby clearance find, but I linked some similar ones in this Amazon home decor post!

I hope you guys love this space as much as I do! My husband says it’s weird that we have wildlife on the wall but I’m really into it! Let me know what you think below!

You are so talented! What a smart and cost effective alternative to buying framed art!! And, of course, the decals are amazing!

Thank you! It all started with the decals and fell into place!
