My Favorite At-Home Workouts

I’ve been talking a lot about workouts you can do at home because while I have a gym membership, I really prefer working out at home! I like not having to get both kids dressed and out the door, and I like being able to workout after they go to bed! I’ve had the opportunity to test out several different apps and workouts, and here are my top picks!

  1. The Fit Mom Guide – I wrote a dedicated blog post about this program here, and a year later it’s still my favorite workout guide! The price is right, and each day has three different workout options, plus a warm up and cool down. There is a TON of variety, so you rarely do the same exercises more than once which is super important to me! This program is designed specifically for postpartum moms, so it focuses on all the right muscle groups with recovery in mind. You can use code caseyeanderson15 for an additional discount!
  2. Bulldog Yoga – I started using this app a couple weeks ago and I’ve been really impressed! I like that there are tons of different classes to choose from, so if you’re a beginner (like me) you can start with the shorter, easier classes. But if you’re a long time yogi, there are longer more specific classes for you as well! This one isn’t too expensive, and for the number of choices in classes available I feel like it’s a great option.
  3. Asics Studio – If you’re looking for the most “gym like” experience without actually having to go to the gym then this is for you! These workouts can be done anywhere, and there are ones that can be done on treadmills or bicycles at the gym in addition to the workout at home options. These workouts include a trainer and motivating music, and you can set reminders on your phone to workout at certain times of the day. At $14.99/month or $49.99/year this is much cheaper than most gym memberships, and is a great option if you have trouble motivating yourself to workout.

My favorite time of the day to workout when I’m staying home is after the kids go to bed. I’m usually still pretty energized from the whole bedtime routine so it’s easy for me to just keep going instead of sitting on the couch and then not wanting to get up 🙂 I’m a big fan of the 20-30 minute workouts, and all of these programs offer shorter options for moms who just don’t have time for anything else. I’ve tried them all and really enjoy them all, and since more consistent working out is one of my New Year’s resolutions (along with everyone else lol) I will be relying on these more heavily to achieve that goal! If working out is one of your resolutions, let me know which program you end up going with and we can start our own little support group! Happy New Year everyone!
