February Goals

Hey everyone! Like you may know, I decided to do smaller sets of monthly goals this year rather than one large set of New Year’s resolutions. You can check out my January goals here! I feel really good about how January went, and I was able to keep up with all of my personal and business related goals to a point of satisfaction!

I am keeping the same basic goals for February, but making small adjustments based on how January went! Our family goals are staying the same, and we have some significant improvements to make on those. January simultaneously felt like the longest and fastest month ever, but I’m grateful for the fresh start of a new month!

Health Goals
-Workout at the gym 4x per week. My previous goal was to workout 3x per week, but I’ve really started to enjoy and crave spin class so I’m increasing the number of times I’d like to go as well as specifying gym workouts! I’ve discovered that I workout with a much higher intensity and efficiency when I attend a class, so my goal is to do more of those.
-No food I’m allergic to. I did really well with this in January, the only exception being when I left town and didn’t have all of my allergy free foods with me. I noticed a serious change in my body when I was eating poorly, so my motivation to eat well is really high right now! I don’t think this will be too difficult of a goal, except when we go to Disneyland and the churros are calling my name!
-Yoga every night before bed. I was able to do really well with this last month, so I’d like to increase the class length that I do every day! I have been doing the quick 20 minute wind down sessions but think I’m ready to incorporate some longer, more intense, practices now that I’ve gotten the hang of things. I do all my classes through the Bulldog Yoga app, and highly recommend it to everyone!

Business Goals
-Young Living. I was able to meet my goal last month for helping people start their journey with Young Living essential oils, but I noticed I stopped caring as soon as I met that number. This month I plan on raising my goal number so I work hard all month to achieve it, and when I achieve it I will continue to work hard as if I haven’t met that goal yet!
-Collectively Oil Co. Some of you may know that I had an accidental trademark infringement episode with my small shop selling essential oil play dough. I was really bummed at the prospect of having to rebrand, but I’ve decided to take things a new direction and I’m really excited about it! My shop is now called Collectively Oil Co and I sell lots of different essential oil products for kids, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, cousins, neighbors, teachers, etc…the list goes on! I’m excited to cater to more people and educate more of you about essential oils!
-Blog. My blog has consistently taken a back seat since Elliott was born (18 months ago) and my goal for this month is to write and post 3 blog posts per week, every week of the month! I already have my content planned, now I need to turn off Netflix and start writing!

Personal Goals
-I thought I would share some personal development goals here too! A big thing that I’ve been working on for the last several years is being a better friend. I want to be the person that my friends call when they need help, when they want to chat, when they want to eat their weight in tacos, or when their kids are driving them up a wall. I don’t feel like this is something that comes naturally for me, so I’m hoping I can really improve on that this month!
-Less judgement. I don’t think I ever vocalize judgement on people, but the silent judging is a reeeeeal problem y’all. I know that my kids pick up on every nuance that I do, so I really want to nip this in the bud before they pick up on my bad habits. I want to focus on vocalizing everyone’s positive attributes this month, and hope to see my kids start to do it as well.
-Better money management. My husband is attending a horribly expensive graduate program, so our finances are very very tight. I want to be better at saving the small income that I make every month instead of running off to spend it immediately. I know that $10 here and there doesn’t seem like much, but it adds up and really makes a difference at the end of the month. I want to be more aware of where I’m spending money, and make more fiscally wise decisions!

That pretty much covers it for this month! I hope these monthly goal check ins inspire you to set and achieve your own goals at a pace that is feasible, and that you continue this year strong!
