Fiesta by Toyota!

I had the opportunity over the last couple of weeks to partner with Toyota to celebrate Fiesta here in San Antonio! If you don’t know what Fiesta is, it’s okay because I had no idea until we moved here either haha. Fiesta is a two week long celebration here in San Antonio commemorating the battle fought for Texas independence from Mexico. When the soldiers returned home from battle, the women lined the streets and threw flowers on the ground to welcome them home. This event was coined the Battle of Flowers, and every year most businesses and school have the day off to attend the events and parades to celebrate! It’s a huge deal here, and people go all out decorating their homes, cars, clothing, etc for the big day!

This was the first year that we attended any of the events, and it’s amazing how many people dedicate their time and effort to making these events successful. We attended the Oyster Bake as a family, where hundred of thousands of oysters are cooked and consumed during a massive concert with seven different genres and stages! Then Jared and I went on a date night to watch the Fiesta Flambeau parade which happens at night, and all the floats and displays are lit up beautifully.

I also had the chance to test drive the 2018 Toyota 4-Runner for two weeks and ohhhh myyyy goshhhh it’s amazing they were able to get me to return it! Reagan was actually just as sad as I was when we gave it back, she asked everyday to ride in the “new car” and could find it in a parking lot no problem. I loved driving this car–it’s much higher up than mine and I loved the spacious interior, the smooth ride, and the phenomenal back up camera. Ours had a sun roof and that made the car feel even roomier on the inside! I loved that the car felt so big but it was still easy to park and maneuver. The trunk space is what every mom’s dreams are made of, I could fit our double stroller, a little potty, camping chairs, a picnic blanket, and an emergency kit with room to spare. And as a bonus, Jared didn’t want to die when we went grocery shopping because there was actually space in the trunk for all the food we bought for the week! The only problem is that now I want to upgrade my car, and we haven’t even paid it off yet!

Toyota has been a sponsor of Fiesta for a decade, and we are so grateful they thought to include us in this year’s celebrations. And if you’re wanting to visit San Antonio, consider coming during Fiesta to experience all the culture and festivities the city has to offer!
