Even though I started this blog 10 months ago, I still feel kind of funny telling people about it. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I have a blog to people at work or to talk about it with family and close friends. I think it’s because of the way I felt about blogging before I started doing it myself-like it wasn’t a real job or authentic and that these women just had nothing else better to do. So I’ve been working on being more confident when I tell people that I have a blog, and that they should check it out if they’re interested in motherhood and parenting.
Up until this week, my blog had not brought in any money, it had strictly been a hobby and a site for promoting things I love and talking about my experiences as a mom. My goal in starting a blog was to eventually take it full time to replace my current job, but I quickly fell in love with the connections I was making with other women that the goal of making money didn’t become as important anymore.
Over the past week, I’ve had several big opportunities come my way that really made me feel like I was starting to make it in this blogging world! I was offered my first paid collaboration, I was referred to as “an influential person in San Antonio,” and I made some partnerships that I never thought I would be a part of. For the first time, I felt like my opinion really mattered and that my time and effort was worth something to a company, even a really big one. It’s a really good feeling to know that all the hard work I’ve put into my blog over the past 10 months is starting to pay off, and that the goals I have for this blog and my family are totally reachable!
Thank you SO much for reading along, for following me on Instagram, and for helping me grow this into something bigger than a side hobby. I can’t wait to see where I’m at when my blogiversary comes in August, and I’m so grateful to be sharing in this journey with you!
