Unique Baby Shower Gift Ideas

Is it just me or is everyone pregnant and having babies right now? My social media feeds are full of the cutest baby bumps lately and I just can’t get enough of it! That definitely won’t be happening for me for a while longer, I can’t even imagine going through first trimester morning sickness with two toddlers to chase and take care of.

Since everyone seems to be having babies this time of year, I thought it would be fun to share some unique baby shower gift ideas! I’m all about the diaper showers and sticking to people’s registries, but if you’re looking to gift something outside the box (or inside…you’ll see what I mean ;)) then here are some fun ideas for you to consider for the next shower you attend!

Subscription Box – I’ve been talking about various subscription boxes lately (like this diaper subscription box!) because I feel like they are fun gifts that everyone appreciates and they continue giving all year long. Another one that I’m loving is this box called Bitsy Boxes! Every month you receive a box with goodies for your little one based on their age, and a little something for mom! This makes a fun gift that works for baby all the way through their first year, and lets mom off the hook when it comes to finding new educational and age appropriate toys based on baby’s age.

Group Gift – Baby items can be pricey. Especially big items like car seats, strollers, nursery furniture…all of which is necessary but a huge upfront expense for first time parents. There are tons of new trendy items for baby (like the famous Dock-A-Tot) that carry a heavy price tag but come with promises of sleep. If you know several of the other shower guests or friends of the new parents, consider going in on one of these pricier items together to give one really awesome gift! One of my dearest friends here in San Antonio is pregnant with her second baby and wanted a Dock-A-Tot so badly, and I was so excited to gift her this one that I received from Dock-A-Tot! The cover is even more beautiful in person, and I hope it works as many wonders for her as it does for other new parents. You can read about my experience with Dock-A-Tot here.

Milestone Journal – There are so many creative ways to document milestones and monthly birthdays for the first year of baby’s life! This is another fun gift for mom because it’s something she will use throughout the whole first year, and there are some seriously cute options out there. Check out my top three (blanket, blocks, cards).

So if you have a baby shower (or three) to attend this summer I hope these ideas help you get out of the swaddle blanket gift rut and into the running for best baby shower guest ever!
